Philippines becoming the hub for search engine optimization (SEO) outsourcing in the world is most likely to happen. On August 15 of last year, The Washington Times published an article suggesting that the Philippines may be the next prime destination for outsourcing SEO work.

The role of SEO in the business industry is undisputed. As people started to use search engines predominantly to search for information, search engine marketing emerged as a niche field of internet marketing. Experts are now hired to increase the visibility of blogs and websites in Internet searches. Blogs that rank “high” in a Google search, for instance, would have a higher chance of getting noticed by internet users. In line with that, it can be said that
SEO Philippines is a thriving economy. In fact, based on local forums, offline events, and SEO companies based in the country, there already exists thousands of SEO practitioners. There are those who work for SEO companies and there are many more that prefer to freelance.

Experts attribute the demand for Filipino experts to a combination of skills, strong work ethics and culture. Clients around the globe trust Filipinos due to their world-class skills. Clients are confident that Filipino workers can get the job done and do it right.

As to work ethics and culture, ‘’Filipinos are internationally known for their work ethics and culture, wherein most are focused on giving quality work and meeting their clients’ expectations when it comes to volume.” Xight Interactive CEO Jason Acidre and author of popular online marketing blog was quoted in the published article. Acidre further noted that Filipinos, with their bold, creative and intelligent ways, have a knack for SEO and online marketing.

The high literacy rate of Filipinos as well as the relatively economical rates also plays a major role. Statistics show that Filipinos have a high literacy rate scoring with 86.4% functional literacy and 93.4% basic literacy. In a way, the result gives inkling as to the reason behind the impressive quality of outputs.

This analysis was seconded by SEO Consultant Mark Acsay. “The mature market demographics in the Internet are usually English speaking, and that’s where the Filipinos are stronger than other sought-after outsourced countries like India. In this industry, excellent communication skills, writing and speaking, are very important.” Acsay had said.

The Philippines is also on the top margin as compared with other non-English speaking countries in Asia, as reflected in the Global English Business English Index. An infograph also shows that only the Philippines got a score of above 7.0, a score which, as Acidre describes“, indicates an ability to take an active role in business discussions and perform relatively complex tasks.”

Last but not least is the economical side of things. Outsourcing work to Filipinos is more economical regardless of the size of the business. With all these factors that come into play, the prospect of the Philippines becoming the hub for SEO outsourcing is definitely within reach.
